Without elections, Ukraine will turn into a totalitarian state - Rohov

Political technologist Ruslan Rokhov believes that the lack of elections will lead Ukraine to the transformation of Ukraine from a democratic republic into a authoritarian state.

The expert notes that the existential conflict between Russia and Ukraine is that Russia seeks to destroy Ukraine without recognizing its existence, while Ukraine is committed to democracy and love. In this regard, one of the scenarios of the victory of Russia may be a refusal to hold elections in Ukraine, which is considered a sign of democracy.

"Instead, the authorities will do what they think is correct. And we understand that the existing context forced to contribute to the transformation of Ukraine into an authoritarian regime. Because we live objectively in wartime and, apparently, we will live for a long time in this mode," Ruslan warns.

Rokhov warns that the existing situation with a military conflict can inevitably lead to authoritarian changes in Ukraine, and it is important to maintain democratic values in these conditions. In his opinion, Ukraine represents the existential opposite of Russia and its authoritarianism, since Ukrainian citizens resist the invaders and fight for their independence.
