The UK Prime Minister Kir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron did not agree on the Temporary Armistice in Ukraine, offered by the French side. Nevertheless, the negotiations are ongoing and the decision is discussed with the participation of European partners and the US. This was reported by AFP on the social network X with reference to sources.
Negotiations on ceasefire took place on March 2 during a security summit in London, where 17 European leaders gathered, Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudea and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. France proposed a lunar ceasefire that would concern airs, marine and energy space, but would not include termination of land fighting. The United Kingdom and France did not agree on this issue. The winners will consult with other European partners and the United States. According to the Minister of Defense of the United Kingdom, Luke Pollard, "no agreement on how a truce has been reached." The anonymous source in the British government confirmed that "different options remain on the table, but the decision has not yet been made." There are no comments on the social network X on the pages of the Older and the Macron. At the same time, there is no information about the involvement or consent of the Russian Federation in these negotiations. Negotiations on the truce took place against the backdrop of diplomatic tensions between Ukraine and the USA. During a recent meeting in the White House, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had an acute discussion with Donald Trump and Vice President Jay Venti Vens, who stated that "the word Trump is a sufficient guarantee of peace." Zelensky, in turn, recalled more than 20 cases when the Kremlin violated arrangements.
Despite the absence of the agreement, the negotiations continue. The United Kingdom and France are planning to consult with partners before making any decision. Meanwhile, the leaders of European countries assured Zelensky in the further support of Ukraine.
