Former Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Andriy Naumov, who was sentenced to Serbia to a year of imprisonment for money laundering, was released. This was reported in a local court, which resolves the issue of its further status.
At the end of last year, Serbia denied Ukraine to Naumov's Extradition, as President Zelensky publicly expressed his allegations in March of that year, calling a traitor. This provoked a protest of local authorities and was considered a violation of the presumption of innocence.
At the end of his prison term, the documents were returned to Naumov, but it is forbidden to leave the territory of Serbia to resolve the issues of appeal for his sentence.
Ukraine's attempts to extradite the former general were stopped by a court decision in Serbia, which found interference with the presumption of innocence due to the statements of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who called the defendant in March 2022 in March 2022.
