France and Latvia joined forces to help Chernihiv region

France and Latvia, as countries of the European Union, took responsibility for Chernihiv region and made a significant contribution to the recovery and development of the region, Vyacheslav Chaus, the head of the Chernihiv OVA, said on his Facebook page.

Latvia took patronage over educational institutions of the Chernihiv region and provided them with assistance in the amount of 2 million euros. These funds were used to restore and improve learning conditions. In addition, €2 million was allocated to the provision of modular homes for those displaced by the conflict.

France contributed by providing 6 bridges, which proved integral to solving the logistics complexities in the region. In connection with the military operations, 38 bridges were destroyed in the Chernihiv region. In addition, the French Republic took over the patronage of medical institutions, contributing to their restoration and providing them with the necessary equipment.

These EU initiatives are a shining example of international cooperation and solidarity in supporting those in need during difficult times.
