Greece will continue to support Ukraine, but will not pass the F-16 aircraft because of anxiety for its own security. This was stated by Prime Minister of Greece Kiriakos Michotakis in an interview with Rzeczpospolita.
"I want to clarify that we will not pass to Ukraine the F-16 aircraft, despite the fact that this information appeared in the media. However, we remain in support of Ukraine," he emphasized.
Michotakis recalled the strong cultural and religious ties of Greece with Russia, but noted that the country opposed the Kremlin regime.
"We are obliged to support Ukraine, but we need to ensure our own security, especially in the conditions of geopolitical difficulties," the Prime Minister added.
He also refused to disclose details about the types of assistance that Greece intends to provide Ukraine.
