The Miss France Beauty Contest 2025 witnessed the historic victory of the 34-year-old Angarney-Philopopon, which represented the island of Martinik. She has become the oldest winner in the history of the competition, which was made possible by the new rules that now allow for married women, mothers and those who are older than 24 years.
“In 2011, I won the first place at the Miss Martinik competition in 20 years. Today, a 34-year-old woman, I represent Martinik, her diaspora, as well as all women who were once said that it is too late, ”said Hunarney Philopon after the results were announced.
This year's finals brought together 30 participants from different professions, including doctors, dentists and women of other specialties. The competition program included a fashion show in swimwear, regional costumes and ballroom dresses, as well as country performances, Latin American rhythms, 90s hits and Mozart's classical music.
After the victory, Angarney-Philopon received an annual salary, access to an apartment in Paris and numerous gifts from sponsors.
The organizers of the competition noted that these changes are aimed at combating the unrealistic standards of beauty and creating a platform for versatile, successful women. Miss France tries to keep up with the times, breaking stereotypes as to who can become a beauty representative.
This year's competition became a symbol of change and opened new opportunities for women of France, regardless of their age or status.
