The Kenyan government has decided to stop mandatory visa requirements for foreigners since January 2024, President William Ruto said.
"No one from any corner of the world will no longer have to carry the burden of a visa for a visit to Kenya. The country expresses a simple invitation for the whole world: welcome home!" Said Ruto.
The President has informed that a digital platform has been developed, on which travelers can be identified and receive electronic entry permission.
According to him, such a step will contribute to the free movement of people and goods, and will reveal new opportunities for Kenya in the field of trade.
The tourism industry plays an important role in the Kenya economy, and this initiative is aimed at attracting more tourists.
