A recent study found that children who read books at an early age demonstrate more success at school and have a more successful development in later life than children who do not read books.
Experts from Bamberg University have established a positive relationship between reading in early childhood and further achievements. For almost ten years, they have studied the lives of 200 children, concluding that the impact of reading on learning and development is manifested equally, regardless of social status, income level and gender. The results of the study showed that reading contributes to the development of language skills, which, in turn, has a positive effect on mathematical abilities.
As part of the observations, children who were read at an early age were tested for language and logical abilities at the age of three to five years. Later, at the age of 12-13, their intellectual abilities were also checked by special tests.
