In Lithuania, the law on compulsory military service was adopted immediately after graduation - without the right to get a deferral to enter the institute.

According to the approved documents, citizens of the country who have reached the age of 17 are obliged to undergo a medical examination, and when they are 18 years of age, they will have to pass a nine-month conscript service in the Lithuanian Armed Forces.
Acknowledged for military service by 17-year-old teenagers will be issued to the military enlistment offices after reaching the age of 18. At the same time, future conscripts will not be able to enter universities until military service is passed.
In 2023, Latvia, in which since 2004 conscript service in the army has been canceled and replaced with a professional service under contract, introduced military conscription and mandatory military service.
Initially, volunteers began to recruit, five hundred people every six months, but gradually the call will increase to six thousand stimuli a year. For five years, that is, since 2027, service in the army will become a compulsory for all men aged 18 to 27 years in Latvia.
