The Kremlin called the condition for Putin's meeting with Zelensky and Trump

The Kremlin stated that meetings at the highest level, in particular between Vladimir Putin, Vladimir Zelensky and Donald Trump, are possible only if there are specific results during direct negotiations between delegations of Ukraine and Russia. This was announced on Friday, May 30, by Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing in Moscow.

According to him, Putin allegedly supports the idea of holding high -level meetings, but considers them appropriate only after appropriate preparation. The main condition put forward by the Kremlin is the progress in the work of negotiating groups.

“President Putin has repeatedly stated that in principle he is in contact at the highest level. Of course, such meetings are necessary. But they must be properly prepared. First of all, the result should be achieved at the level of negotiation delegations, ”Peskov said.

He also noted that only in the event of specific agreements at the level of direct negotiations between representatives of Moscow and Kiev will it be possible to move to the next stage - the organization of summits with the participation of heads of state.

In addition, the Kremlin spokesman stated that Russia did not intend to publish the text of its project of the memorandum, which its representatives allegedly work. According to him, this issue is confidential and should be resolved solely within the negotiation process.

“It is obvious that there will be no public statements about the content of the documents. It is an internal object of negotiation. Both Russian, and, as we hope, the Ukrainian memoranda projects will be discussed during the second round of negotiations, which is scheduled for Monday in Istanbul. The Russian delegation will be ready for him, ”he said.

At the same time, the Russian side did not inform whether Putin was introduced personally to the Ukrainian project of the document and whether the Kremlin sees the potential for compromise.
