Norway is outraged by the marriage of its princess to an American shaman

Princess Martha Louise Norwegian, the eldest daughter of King Harald V, recently married the American shaman Durkha Verretta. This event caused a storm of indignation and concern among Norwegian citizens and representatives of the royal family.

The couple married a private hotel in a hotel in Geranger, Western Norway, Saturday after two days of celebrations.

Unlike other royal weddings, where crowds of people greet brides, only a few ordinary Norwegians were able to see a happy couple on this holiday.

The ceremony from the casual observers was hidden by the awning and white fabric, as exclusive rights to photograph the couple sold Magazine.

At the wedding, they also noticed a crew of Netflix, which caused dissatisfaction with local publications that did not receive admission to the celebrations.

Princess's parents, King Harald and Queen Sonia, were present at the ceremony with other members of the royal family of Norway, as well as princes and princesses from Sweden and the Netherlands.

The three daughters of Martha Louise Princess from her first marriage with the late Norwegian writer Ari Ben also participated in the ceremony.

It was reported that among the guests of the event was Syntia Bailey, a star of reality show "Real Housewives of Atlanta".

52-year-old Princess Martha Louise and Durret Verrett, who will not receive the title of Prince after the wedding, announced their engagement in 2022.

Despite the fact that their relations caused controversy in Norway, King Harald had previously told Norwegian journalists that Verrett was a "wonderful guy" and that they "laughed a lot, even during this difficult time."

In 2022, the Norwegian royal court announced that Martha Louise "abandon his role as patromes", because she and Verrett seek to "more clearly differentiate their activities and activities of the Royal House of Norway" and "prevent misunderstanding."

Since then, the couple has been criticized in the Palace and in the Norway Parliament for the linking of commercial activity with the royal status of the princess.

Christie Marie Skrede, the royal correspondent of the NRK Norwegian TV channel, says that their relationship has caused a conflict within the royal family and disputes in society.

"Many Norwegians are concerned about using her royal ties to make money," Skrede said, adding that some considers it a manifestation of "disrespect" to King Harald.

Princess Martha Louise in the past argued that she was a clairvoyant, and by 2018 managed a school in which, she said, students were taught to "create miracles" and talk with angels.

Verrett says he is the last of the six generations of shamans, and once said he had died for 4 minutes and 25 seconds.

"I got all the information on the other side. I returned," he said in an interview with New York Times newspaper.
