One of France's largest construction companies has left the Russian market

The French infrastructure Holding Vinci SA has finally left the Russian market, selling its assets. Despite the rumors of the possible return of foreign business to Russia, the company has decided to stop its activities in the country because of geopolitical and economic risks.

According to the Russian media, Vinci SA sold a share at the company "Severo-Concession Company" (SCCC) , which was engaged in the construction of the high-speed motorway of Moscow-St. Petersburg. The new asset owner was a group of National Proctroier , which in 2021 purchased part of the SCCC shares.

Vinci SA is one of the largest European holdings in the construction and maintenance of infrastructure facilities such as roads, airports, stadiums and energy complexes. The departure of the company from Russia is part of its strategy, which provided for the gradual reduction of business in the country after the start of the war.

Despite the statements of Russian officials about the possible return of foreign companies, the Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Mantrov acknowledged that such issues were not even raised. The country's government is developing a foreign business mechanism, but it provides for a special permit.
