Iran's Parliament unanimously approved all members of the new office of the President-Reformer Masud Pesshkian, reports Associated Press. This decision became an important milestone in Iranian political history, since for the first time in more than two decades the country's leader was able to conduct through the legislative body of all its ministers.
The approval of all candidates is an early victory for Masud Pesshkian, who came to power after the tragic death of his predecessor in the helicopter accident in May. As an experienced legislator and reformer, the Pesshkian was able to make a consensus office that received support from all government centers in Iranian theocracy. This indicates its ability to reach agreements and ensure political stability in the country.
The new Pesashkian office is presented with significant changes and important purpose:
- Abbas Aragchi is a 61-year-old career diplomat that will head the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. Aragchi was a member of the Iranian negotiation group who signed a nuclear agreement in 2015. His appointment testifies to the intention of Pesashkian to continue his diplomatic course in foreign policy.
- Aziz Virzade became the new Minister of Defense, receiving the greatest support of the deputies. This appointment emphasizes the importance of military safety in the new administration.
- Farzana Sadieg , a 47-year-old architect, will head the Ministry of Housing and Roads. Its purpose is a landmark because it has become the first woman in Iran over ten years, which emphasizes the desire for gender inclusion in the government.
- Ismail Hatib was appointed Minister of Intelligence, and Amin Hossein Rahimi was appointed by the Minister of Justice. Both of them worked with the late President Ibrahima Raisi.
- Raisi Abbas Alabad , the Minister of Industry, was also appointed to the post of Minister of Energy, which testifies to the government's plans to focus on energy issues.
After the government's approval, President Peseschian posted an image on the Internet, where he stands next to the head of the judicial system of Iran and the speaker of Parliament, who was his rival in the election. In the signature to the image, he said "consensus for Iran", which emphasizes the importance of political unity for his administration.
