The Ukrainian Parliament agreed to the creation of a temporary special commission (TSC) aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the work of local authorities in Kyiv. This news was reported by representatives of the parliamentary factions, in particular, members of the "Voice" and "European Solidarity" factions.
The creation of the relevant commission was supported by 252 people's deputies in accordance with Resolution No. 10460. Vitalii Bezgin, deputy from the "Servant of the People" party, who was also the initiator of this resolution, is to head this commission.
According to the document, the main tasks of the TSC are the analysis of current issues of the strategic development of Kyiv, such as the development of transport and urban infrastructure, establishment of city boundaries, approval of the General Plan, restoration of the housing stock and functioning of the city's critical infrastructure.
In addition, the commission will conduct an analysis of city management problems , in particular during martial law, as well as study information on the irrational use of budget funds during public procurement.
So far, the Kyiv city authorities have not reacted to the creation of the parliamentary TSK. However, the mayor of the city, Vitalii Klitschko, regularly faces criticism from deputies of the Servant of the People party.
The creation of the commission was initiated after the stoppage of metro trains on the section between Teremky and Demiivska stations due to technical problems. These stations are currently operating only as an air raid shelter, and the repair work is expected to last for six months.
Further steps and decisions of the TSC regarding the efficiency of city management will be important for the further development of Kyiv and the improvement of the quality of life of the local population.
