On the fourth Saturday of November 2023, when Ukraine honors the memory of the victims of the Holodomor, the capital of the country collapsed the most massive attack of drones, provoked by the Russian forces. The attack known as Shahaned has led to serious destruction in different areas of the city, leaving behind the devastation and many victims.
One of the most affected areas is Solomenskyi. According to the mayor of Kiev Vitaliy Klitschko, as a result of the fall of fragments of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) there was a fire in the premises of the kindergarten. The debris also got into the open terrain, leading to further damage.
In different parts of Solomenskiy district, destruction is recorded, in particular on the second floor of a five -storey building, where rescuers try to unblock people. The area has also reported the victim of an 11-year-old child who is provided with medical care.
In the Dniprovsky and Holosiivsky districts, the fall of debris was also recorded, which led to small damage to residential buildings. Fortunately, in some cases, the fires and serious injuries of residents were avoided.
In general, according to the Kyiv City Executive Committee, more than 40 enemy drones were shot by counteraction systems. However, this does not change the fact that the attack has become the most massive since the beginning of the Russian invasion.
The attack also led to great interference with the city's life. The airline disconnect has led to the lack of power supply in 77 residential buildings and 120 institutions in the central part of Kiev. The reasons for this exception are now being clarified and recovery work is being carried out.
The situation remains tense, and emergency services continue to travel to different parts of the city to assist and evaluate losses. As of six o'clock in the evening, work is underway to restore and neutralize the consequences of this tragic attack.
