US Senate is preparing new sanctions against

The US Senate considers the possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia in the event of Moscow's refusal to participate in peace talks or attempts to undermine Ukraine's sovereignty. The corresponding bill has prepared 50 senators - equally from Republicans and Democrats, Reuters reports.

The basic provisions of sanctions include primary and additional restrictions not only against Russia, but also against organizations and countries that support its aggression. The initiative was developed by Republican Lindsey Graham and Democrat Richard Blumental.

The document provides sanctions in the form of raising tariffs for goods for countries that buy Russian oil, gas, uranium and other resources. Financial restrictions are also provided for persons and companies that contribute to the continuation of the war.

The bill was also submitted in the House of Representatives, where he received two -party support. Senators are convinced that the document will be adopted by a majority of votes if the leaders of the Republicans in Congress give permission to the vote.

The initiative authors emphasized that the Senate is dominated by the idea of stopping Russia's aggression and preventing its repetition in the future. The voting date is not specified, but the legislators are determined.
