The United States and Ukraine have reached the final stage of the framework agreement on minerals, oil, gas and infrastructure assets. This was stated by US Finance Minister Scott Bessent on February 27 on Fox Business.
According to him, the document has already been approved by the Ukrainian government and is ready for signing by the presidents of both countries. Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump are expected to formally make an agreement during the meeting on February 28.
“It is complete, it is on paper, and the Ukrainian government approved it. Tomorrow is expected to sign heads of state. It is an agreement on minerals, oil, gas and infrastructure assets. This is a really mutually beneficial agreement because it brings the Ukrainian people closer and the American business community, ”Bessent said.
The Minister also stressed that the agreement will ensure transparency in the implementation of joint projects and will be a significant step in the fight against corruption as it will use the best American practices.
This agreement is expected to open up new opportunities for investment in Ukraine's strategic branches and will strengthen economic relations between Kiev and Washington.
US President Donald Trump does not believe that Russian leader Vladimir Putin will break the "peace agreement" that can be concluded to end the war in Ukraine. He stated this during a meeting with the UK Prime Minister Kiir Startner on February 27, reports "European Truth".
