In the State Duma of Russia, Mikhail Mishustin was approved for the post of Prime Minister, and the resolution of the House of Parliament will be sent to President Vladimir Putin for the final appointment of Mishustin.

According to the Russian media, 432 State Duma deputies took part in the vote, of which 375 voted for the approval of Mishustin, 57 abstained. Earlier, the deputy Gennady Zyuganov stated that the CPRF Party is refrain from supporting the current Cabinet of Ministers through the financial and economic block of the government.

Mishustin thanked the deputies for his support and stressed that they supported the President's decision. The State Duma also plans to consider candidates for the posts of federal ministers on May 14, with the Vice Prime Minister's candidature will be considered on the day earlier. It is unclear whether the Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu will remain.
