Allies are actively discussing the possibility of sending their troops to the demarcation line in Ukraine as a means of guaranteeing security in the event of a ceasefire agreement. This is stated in the statements of key European leaders, in particular the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Berbock.
According to her, Kyiv should receive real security guarantees to establish a just and lasting peace on its territory. Burbok emphasized that peace cannot be achieved at the expense of "freezing the conflict". "This should not be a freezing of the conflict, which only leads to further arming and further attacks on Ukraine or other European countries," the minister said.
Burbok also stated that the allies continue to discuss the format of the "international presence" on the territory of Ukraine, which could become a mechanism for ensuring compliance with the ceasefire regime. According to her, Germany is ready to consider the participation of its armed forces to maintain peace.
"Germany, of course, will support everything that will serve peace in the future with all its might," added the head of the MFA.
The importance of real security guarantees for Ukraine is confirmed by the fact that the allies are discussing not only political steps, but also the possibility of direct participation of their military contingents. This approach aims to ensure a sustainable solution to the conflict, avoiding its escalation in the future.
