Ukraine appealed to the UN Security Council because of the "elections" in the occupied territory

At the request of Ukraine, the UN Security Council plans to hold a meeting concerning the organization of the Russian Federation of Elections in temporarily occupied territories (Tot). This was reported by a permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN, Sergey Kislytsya.

According to Kislytsia, the Security Council meeting is scheduled for Friday at 15:05 (21:05 Kyiv time). Its purpose will be to discuss the illegal attempt of the "presidential elections" organized by Russia from March 15 to March 17 in the temporarily occupied Crimea and in some parts of Donetsk, Lugansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions of Ukraine.

The so -called "elections" of the President in the territory of the Russian Federation are planned to last three days - from March 15 to March 17. The Kremlin is expected to predict that Vladimir Putin will gain more than 80% of the vote, which will allow him to stay in power at least by 2030.

71-year-old Vladimir Putin has already held the post of president longer than any other Russian ruler since Joseph Stalin, exceeding the 18-year term of Leonid Brezhnev's reign.
