Ukraine continues to receive international support for infrastructure restoration. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the project of the Agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Japan on granting a grant of 8.8 billion Japanese yen, which is equivalent to almost $ 58 million.
Prime Minister Denis Shmigal announced this during a government meeting on February 11. According to him, these funds will be aimed at financing the reconstruction projects within the framework of cooperation with the Japanese Agency of International Cooperation (JICA).
“Today we make an important decision for our restoration. We approve the project of the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Japan to attract a grant, ”Shmigal said. He also thanked Japan for the unchanging support of Ukraine at this difficult time.
Japan has repeatedly provided financial assistance to Ukraine in the form of grants and loans aimed at humanitarian initiatives, restoration of critical infrastructure and economic development. The next tranche emphasizes further cooperation between the countries and the willingness of Japan to support Ukraine in the reconstruction process.
