In 2025, a record budget - over UAH 739 billion - is provided for the weapons production and purchase program in Ukraine. This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmigal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on February 7.
Schmigal stressed that the government is priority for the procurement of Ukrainian weapons, actively investing in the development of the defense industry and supports the private sector. One of the key tasks is to conclude long -term weapons and ammunition contracts, which will strengthen the country's defense potential.
"The Ministry of Defense, Finance and Strategic Industry should work out the implementation of long -term contracts to stimulate producers and ensure the stable development of the defense industry," the Prime Minister said.
In 2024, the first three -year contracts were signed, and for 2025 it is planned to establish the norm of concluding three -year and five -year agreements for weapons and equipment. This should help attract investments in the production and creation of a state -of -the -art defense complex in Europe.
