In India a mysterious illness took the lives of 17 people

The power of the Union territory of Jamm and Kashmir in India investigates the causes of a mysterious disease that led to the death of 17 people, including 13 children. About it reports Press Trust of India (PTI) with reference to local officials.

All cases of death have been recorded in the remote village of Badhal since the beginning of December. Last week, the area was announced by the "restraint zone", more than 200 residents are in quarantine.

The dead were members of three families, and all of them observed damage to the brain and nervous system. According to Amardjit Singh Bhatia, the head of the State Medical College Rajuri, the authorities canceled the winter holidays for medical workers to control the situation.

The Federal Government of India launched an investigation with the local authorities and the Minister of Health Jitndra Singh. Previous data indicate that the cause of the tragedy is not infection, virus or bacterium, but most likely toxin.

“We check a long list of possible toxins and believe that we can find the cause in the near future. The version of criminal or malicious activity is also considered, ”Singh said.
