Massive strikes of Russia in the territory of Ukraine did not affect the position of former US President Donald Trump against Vladimir Putin. On June 11, the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak declared in a comment for RBC-Ukraine.
He noted that to change Trump's attitude, it is not enough to only demonstrate the consequences of war, since the emotional component is no longer as important in global media as before. Other arguments are needed for effective influence - those who affect the personal reputation of the politician and its pragmatic interests.
According to Podolyak, it is worth using tools that demonstrate that Russia's actions are harming the US international authority, weaken its links with European partners and pose threats to security. In addition, it is necessary to show how Moscow provokes new conflicts in different regions of the world - in particular in Asia, Africa and Latin America.
He stressed that today the Wagner structure is turning into an "African corps" and seeks to increase its influence in a number of countries. This has a direct economic reflection - in revenues, debt and overall financial situation.
Podolyak emphasized that arguments should be addressed: for Trump - rational and financial, for other influential persons - humanitarian and ethical. Only such a comprehensive strategy will make changes to the attitude of American politicians to war in Ukraine and the role of Russia in it.
