In Ukraine, large -scale changes in military service are being prepared. The relevant project of the Presidential Decree has already been agreed by the government, said MP Alexei Goncharenko in his Telegram channel on Friday, February 7.
One of the key changes will be the cancellation of conscript service. Instead, it is planned to introduce new military service formats, including the basic service and reservist service.
The following innovations are also provided:
- Career growth after the war - receiving ranks and positions will take place under the competition system (by rating), not just for years of service.
- Rotations - the military will be transferred to other positions for additional experience.
- New contracts - the system of signing and extension of contracts will be ordered.
As Goncharenko noted, these changes are part of a major reform aimed at implementing NATO standards. At the same time, most innovations will only take effect after the war.
