For the first time since the beginning of the war, a new embassy was opened in Ukraine

On January 17, 2025, the historic opening of a new embassy — the representative office of Albania — took place in Ukraine. This is the first time since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion that a new embassy has opened in Kyiv. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga and his Albanian colleague Igli Hasani solemnly opened the diplomatic mission of Albania in the Ukrainian capital.

Sybiga emphasized that the opening of this embassy is a symbol of Ukrainian-Albanian stability and unity, and also emphasized the importance of the joint future of Ukraine and Albania in the European Union and NATO.

The Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in turn, confirmed that his country supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Hasani noted that the international community should continue to provide strong political, diplomatic and humanitarian support to Ukraine at this difficult time.
