Researchers at Arizona University have found that insincerity in communication can have serious consequences for humans. They have studied the influence of different models of regulation of emotions in the workplace and have come interesting conclusions: those who are used to the emotions are more likely to face stress, conflicts and even health problems.
Researchers have considered two main approaches to the control of emotions: superficial action - when a person demonstrates emotions that he really does not feel (for example, smiles, though angry). Deep action - when behavior is consistent with inner feelings, that is, a person is honest with himself and the environment.
Scientists conducted a survey among employees of different professions and distinguished four main types of people: they do not control their emotions - express everything they feel without filters. They rarely control their emotions - usually honest, but they can occasionally resort. They practice deep action - remain sincere in their emotions and behavior. Always insincere - they constantly wear a mask and hide true emotions. It turned out that people of the third type feel best - those who practice deep action. They: receive genuine support from the environment, experience less stress, work more efficiently and with optimism, rarely have heart and vessels problems. But people who are used to lying and emotions, on the contrary, had difficulty in dealing with colleagues. Sooner or later, their insincerity was revealed, which led to conflicts and distrust.
Honesty and others not only strengthens relationships, but also have a positive effect on physical and mental health. So the next time you want to make joy or hide dissatisfaction, you should think - perhaps sincerity will be the best solution?
