According to updates, 137 amendments were made to the Law on Assistance to Ukraine from the United States (USA), which almost all were proposed by Republicans.
Among the proposals from Republicans are the following:
- The prohibition of the White House head unilaterally withdraw the debt to Ukraine.
- Restriction of the use of allocated funds for government salaries and pensions to civil servants.
- Before spending for Ukraine, the US President must confirm that NATO countries spend at least 2% of GDP on defense.
Particularly distinguished by the Republican Margori Taylor Green, who proposed to ban funding:
- Azov battalion.
- Until abortions are prohibited in Ukraine.
- Until President Volodymyr Zelenskyy resign.
In the US, discussions are underway to assist Ukraine. Recently, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, proposed to divide the bill previously approved by the Senate into four separate documents. Voting on this issue is planned for April 20.
