From now on, unique VIN codes will be affixed to Ukrainian conscripts using the "Oberig" system instead of ordinary bar codes in their military tickets. This initiative is aimed at facilitating the verification and updating of personal data during inspections conducted by the TCC and the police. The Judicial and Legal Gazette reports that each conscript will be assigned a unique VIN code as a personal identifier.
If this code is missing from the military document, it may indicate that the information about the person has not been updated in the TCC. In this case, if a man with such a document is stopped on the street, it will be difficult to prove the opposite.
According to the report, a legal framework is currently being developed for issuing a single document for conscripts in one form. After the implementation of the new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, citizens without a military document will be issued a new document. However, old-style documents will remain valid, but will be marked with the relevant data update records.
