FIFA published an updated ranking of the national teams, and despite the unsuccessful results in the last matches of the League of Nations, the national team of Ukraine rose one position. The team is now in 24th place, having scored 1548.29 points, although not long ago it had 1567.25 points.
Ukraine suffered defeats in the last two matches of the League of Nations. First, the team lost to the Albanian national team with a score of 1:2, and then lost the victory in an away match against the Czech Republic, losing 2:3. However, this did not prevent the Ukrainian national team from rising from 25th to 24th place in the FIFA world ranking.
Currently, the Ukrainian national team ranks 13th among European teams, which prevents it from entering the first basket for the qualification draw for the 2026 World Cup. This is a strategically important goal for the national team.
There were no changes at the top of the rating. Argentina remains the leader with 1889.02 points, followed by France and Spain. The Russian national team, which is suspended from international tournaments, lost one position and fell to the 34th place.
This is how the top 10 of the FIFA ranking looks like as of September 19, 2024:
