In the light of rumors about a possible conflict between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) Valery Zaluzhny on assessing the situation at the front, Zelensky expressed his outrage on the interference of the generals in politics and stressed that it could be threatened.
The President noted that in 2014 political forces were "pushing" servicemen into politics, and considers it a big mistake. According to him, when the military begins to engage in politics, it can disobey among their subordinates.
"I think this is a huge mistake. They were pushed into politics because everyone was destroyed - reputational, etc.," Zelensky said.
He expressed the belief that there could be no place to be rebected in war, as it threatens national unity.
"If you are in a war, keeping in mind that tomorrow you will be engaged in politics or elections, then in your words and on the forefront you behave as a politician, not as a military. I think it is a huge mistake," the Ukrainian leader emphasized.
Zelensky also expressed the opinion that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia cannot be recognized as hopelessness. He stressed that Ukraine is at home and the Russians are on its land. The President also noted the importance of supporting the event for Ukraine in this context.
Recall that the conflict between Zelensky and Zaluzhny has already caused a discussion in Ukrainian society. Presidential Advisor Mikhail Podolyak explained that the conflict cannot be "defined" because Zelensky is a direct leader of Zaluzhny.
