Zelensky for the first time explained why he fired Zaluzhny

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky explained that changes in the military leadership, including the release of the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, are part of the strategic "restart" aimed at improving coordination and accelerating the pace of work.

In his interview with Fox News, the head of state emphasized: "Time is the life of people, and we cannot spend it on bureaucracy." He noted the need for more flexible, technological and operational approaches.

According to the President, after his release, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for his dedicated service in defense of the country.

Zelensky did not rule out the possibility that Zaluzhny could be opposed to him, but noted that it would be "his choice."

We will remind that on February 8, 2024 Zelensky dismissed Zaluzhny from the post of commander -in -chief of the Armed Forces and appointed Alexander Sirsky to this position. Zaluzhny was asked to stay on the team, but the specific position was not specified.

On February 9, Zelensky awarded Zaluzhny the title of Hero of Ukraine.
