The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that during Friday, May 16, the situation at the front remained tense. Russian troops continue active fighting throughout the collision line. 145 combat clashes were recorded during the day.
According to the General Staff, the enemy made one rocket and 63 aviation strikes, used one rocket and dropped 112 managed airbugs. 135 shelling of rocket launchers were also recorded.
The most intense battles continue in the Pokrovsky direction. Ukrainian troops stopped 52 assaults and offensive actions in the areas of settlements of Novosergiivka, Malynivka, Elizabeth, Lisivka, Lysovka, Novo Aleksandrivka, Zaporizhzhia, Troitske, Bogdanivka, Andriyivka, as well as in the direction of Novoukranka, Oleksiyka, Poltava, and Oleksivka, Polivka, and Oleksiyivka, Polivka, and Polivka.
In the Toretsky direction, the enemy made 19 attacks in the areas of Toretsk, Crimean and towards Diliyivka, Katerynivka, Pleshchiyivka and Novospas.
In the Novopavlovsky direction, 18 attacks were recorded in the districts of Konstantinopol, Shevchenko, Novosilok and towards the rich and green field.
In the estuary direction, the enemy attacked 17 times near Greek, Thorns, Yampolovka, wells, as well as in the direction of the cervix, Olgivka, a new peace, a rare and a green valley.
There were 13 combat clashes in the Kursk direction. Russian troops inflicted 20 air strikes, dropped 37 controlled bombs and carried out 195 artillery shelling, including 11 from rocket launchers.
There were five attacks in the Kharkiv direction in Volchansk, Stroiivka and Kamianka.
In the Seversky direction, Russian troops attacked the positions of Ukrainian forces four times near Verkhnamansky and Bigorivka.
There were also four attacks in the Kolisniki, Novoosinov and Zarizovy.
There were two fighting collisions near the time Yar and Kurdyumivka in the Kramatorsk direction.
In the Orikhiv direction, the Ukrainian forces reflected two storms in the areas of Shcherbaks and small Shcherbaks.
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold positions and cause significant losses to the enemy. The most intense fighting continues in the east of the country.
