Google has begun testing a new feature in its search engine that aims to help users recognize trusted sites and avoid fraudulent or fake resources. This is reported by The Verge .
Users participating in the test began to notice checkmarks next to the name of the verified sites when searching. When hovering over a tick, the message appears: "This marking indicates that this business is exactly what it claims to be . Such a function is designed to increase the level of security and help users navigate the network, avoiding forgeries.
A similar technology is already used in the Gmail service through Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI) . Verified companies have a similar mark next to the email sender's name.
Molly Shaheen, Google's public affairs representative, commented: "We regularly experiment with features that help shoppers identify trusted companies online, and we're currently running a small experiment that shows checkmarks next to certain companies .
So far, Google has not officially announced the full launch of this feature and has not provided information about a possible date for its full deployment.
