The persimmon with which Ukrainians are already accustomed to meeting in the cold season attracts a bright orange color and not only delicious but also good for health. However, it is important to know how to eat it as efficiently as possible.
With or without peel: a dilemma
Many people are faced with the question: should the persimmon be removed before consumption, can it be left undisturbed? Generally speaking, most varieties of persimmon, as well as many other fruits, are more useful when consumed with peel. The skin usually contains the most vitamins and useful elements.
However, this does not apply to unripe persimmon. Unripe persimmon can have a viscous taste because of the tannin content that has tanning properties. Therefore, it is better to refrain from consumption of peel, especially if the persimmon taste tart.
When and how to eat persimmon
It is important to consume it in the right time to maximize the benefits of persimmon. The fruit should be eaten no earlier than an hour after meals and no later than half an hour before.
