The Coca-Cola Company, together with the Ukrainian Red Cross, launched an important initiative to provide heat to more than 50,000 Ukrainians. According to the announcement, before the start of the heating season, Ukrainian communities have already installed 37 mobile boiler rooms intended for heating hospitals, schools and residential buildings.
An additional eight mobile boiler houses have been ordered, which will soon reach the communities. This initiative cost more than 3.5 million dollars and became an important step in improving living conditions for many Ukrainians.
"We remember last winter and the difficulties Ukrainians faced during the termination of heat supply in a number of Ukrainian cities. Coca-Cola purchased 37 boilers from the Ukrainian manufacturer, which will heat hospitals, schools, and residential buildings. We placed an order for their production in advance and are extremely pleased that we managed to deliver the boilers to the communities at the beginning of the heating season. Currently, we are expecting the fulfillment of another order for eight mobile boilers, which will strengthen the resilience of territorial communities this winter", - shared Andriy Bublyk, director of corporate relations and sustainable development of Coca-Cola Beverages Ukraine.
Mobile boiler houses, which run on natural gas produced in Ukraine and can switch to diesel fuel in the event of gas supply interruptions, are an important backup source of heat for various communities.
Most of the boiler houses will be installed stationary to replace destroyed and worn out ones, and in some cities, where heat generation is running at the limit of possibilities, they will be used as spares during accidents. For example, in the village of Myrotske, Buchansk community, they can heat up to 5,000 square meters, including a school, residential buildings, and administrative premises.
Uman received four mobile boiler houses to provide heat to residential buildings in case of emergency shutdowns. Such an initiative provides an additional level of protection in conditions where the stability of the heat supply may be disturbed.
The mayor of Voznesensk, Yevgeny Velichko, shared his impressions: "Obtaining modular boiler houses is an important step in providing our residents with a reliable and efficient source of heat. The implementation of this project will allow us to improve the quality and reliability of heat supply for socially important institutions and institutions of our community. In the conditions of difficult times, when our country is subjected to armed aggression by the Russian Federation, this assistance is especially important."
According to Maksym Dotsenko, General Director of the National Committee of the Red Cross Society of Ukraine, help from Coca-Cola is important, especially in war conditions: "Last winter, the Ukrainian Red Cross provided critical infrastructure facilities, hospitals, shelters and communities with the necessary equipment so that people had heat and light. We started preparing for the winter period of 2024 back in the spring, because we understand how important it is to help people during war. Thanks to the support of our long-term partner - the Coca-Cola Company System in Ukraine, we transfer heat generation equipment to dozens of communities for schools, kindergartens, hospitals and multi-story residential buildings."
It should be noted that since the beginning of the war, the Coca-Cola Company, its beverage bottling partners and the Coca-Cola Foundation have already provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 30 million dollars, supporting the population in a difficult situation.
