The Kremlin does not exclude the meetings of Zelensky and Putin

The Kremlin declared the theoretical opportunity to meet between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. However, such a meeting can only occur if there are specific arrangements. This was reported by the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing on May 28.

According to him, the position of Moscow remains unchanged: the meeting of the heads of state is possible only after careful preparation and approval of decisions at the level of delegations. According to Peskov, it should be the final stage of negotiations, not their beginning.

He also failed to clarify the possible place of the next round of negotiations, noting that it should arrange both sides. Commenting on the assumption of American representative Kellog on a possible meeting in Geneva, Peskov noted that such a decision should be made by consensus.

In addition, the Kremlin representative expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that, according to him, Russia is imposed on Western platforms to discuss the Ukrainian issue.

At this stage, the parties do not report the planned official meetings or specific negotiation dates.
