Today, on November 14, 2023, students of Lviv Polytechnic took out on the streets of the city, expressing their protest against the continuation of the work of teacher Irina Farion in the educational institution.
Students demand to postpone Farion from the post of teacher of Polytechnic through her xenophobic statements about Russian -speaking military personnel of the Armed Forces. The rally was held under the slogans "Farion!", "Education without Communists", "Language unites - Farion burns!".
Students have stated that hatred and mracobissa persons should not work at universities. In their address, they urged everyone who indifferent to join the action and express their support.
Students emphasized that this is not the first time they oppose Farion and indicate the importance of exclusion of hatred persons from teachers.
At the closed door of the University Rectorate, he had important conversations and asked the students to leave the corps. However, students reported that Farion remains in their post.
The Rectorate reported that there were no legal and legal grounds for the release of Farion. It is stated that on November 23 a commission will be assembled, which will decide further steps.
The situation remains tense, and students continue to wait for the commission's decision. The consequences of this protest may have far -reaching consequences for the university community and its future teaching policy
