Vasily Bodnar, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland, began his diplomatic mission in Warsaw. Already on the first working day, he presented copies of the certificates of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Henrytsya Moschytska-Nadis.
"I am glad to return to Warsaw as an ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Poland. On the first working day, I was honored to hand over copies of verbal certificates. We work to strengthen the Ukrainian-Polish strategic partnership," Vasyl Bodnar said.
Vasily Bodnar has considerable experience of diplomatic activity:
- 2006–2010 - worked as a Ukrainian diplomat in Poland.
- 2017-2021 - held the post of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
- 2021–2023 - headed the Embassy of Ukraine in Turkey.
On October 31, 2024, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Bodnar a new ambassador to Poland. This position became vacant after Vasyl Zvarych, the previous ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, was transferred to the post of head of Ukrainian diploma in the Czech Republic.
The appointment of Vasyl Bodnar in Poland is of particular importance in the context of deepening a strategic partnership between the two countries. Poland is one of the key partners of Ukraine, in particular in the context of support in the war with Russia, assistance to Ukrainian refugees and the integration of Ukraine into the EU.
Many years of experience of Bodnar, including his knowledge of the Polish political system and perfect possession of international policy issues, allow to expect further strengthening of Ukrainian-Polish relations.
