Putin stated first hopes in a relationship with the United States

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the first contacts with the new US administration were "giving certain hopes". He said this on February 27 during an extended meeting of the FSB Board of the Russian Federation, where they discussed security and international relations.

In particular, Putin stressed that the new US leadership demonstrates a "counter -mood" to restore interstate relations and willingness to work on solving strategic problems that have accumulated in world politics.

Putin stressed that Russia views these first contacts as an opportunity to improve dialogue between countries. According to him, the US side demonstrates a more pragmatic approach to international relations, which can contribute to the gradual settlement of global crises.

"There is a counter -mood to work on the restoration of interstate relations, to a gradual solution to the enormous volume of systemic strategic problems that have accumulated in the world architecture," Putin said.

He also believes that these problems at one time were the cause of regional conflicts, including wars in Ukraine. According to him, the policy of previous US administrations only exacerbated the situation in the world, as it was based on "Messian ideological clichés", which, according to Putin, led to the crisis of the entire system of international relations.

The Russian leader also mentioned the "internal problems" of the event, which, he said, was the result of this policy. He argues that the current economic situation in many Western countries, as well as their internal political difficulties, is the result of erroneous strategic decisions.

"This is evidenced by problems in the economy of many Western countries, in domestic policy. We see it all. This is especially clear in the course of domestic political events in these countries," he said.
