The intelligence of the UK Ministry of Defense conducted an analysis of the destruction of the Russian landing ship "Novocherkassk" in Feodosia, Crimea. In their report, they state that such ships, including "Novocherkassk," are often used for logistics tasks and providing a road and rail connection of the Crimean bridge.
According to British scouts, Russia's aggressive policy envisaged the use of large landing ships for significant landing operations during a possible invasion. This was probably one of the reasons for increasing the number of such vessels in the Black Sea while preparing for a possible war against Ukraine.
It is noted that this incident has led to an increase in the number of Russian ships lost, including "Saratov," which sank on March 24, 2022, and "Minsk", which was destroyed in September 2023. Additionally, two submarines are probably also damaged.
On the night of December 26, a Russian landing ship "Novocherkassk" was destroyed in the annexed Theodosius as a result of a rocket strike. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the ship was injured during the attack.
