New Year's weather in Ukraine this year will surprise the warmth and lack of snow, which has become a familiar picture for recent years. According to the forecasters, the weather conditions will be formed by the end of December under the influence of a young Gunher anticyclone, which will provide a soft autumn and spring atmosphere.
According to the Ventusky Mehrich card, by December 31, the temperature in Ukraine will fluctuate from -6 ° C in the west to +5 ° C in the southeast. In particular, frosts up to -8 ° C are expected in the Carpathians on the New Year, and other regions will retain a relatively warm climate. Meteorologist Igor Kibalchich notes that from December 24 to December 25, the Gunher anticyclone will provide almost cloudless sky and the absence of significant precipitation. This is confirmed by the weather forecaster Natalka Didenko, adding that on December 31 and January 1, it will pass without significant changes: warm weather and minimum rainfall.
However, at the beginning of the New Year, some cold is expected in the west. At night, the temperature can be lowered to -5 ° C, although it is still quite a soft figure for winter. Warm New Year holidays without snow is a phenomenon that has become the norm in Ukraine due to global climatic changes. "The New Year's meeting without a snow cover ceased to amaze," Igor Kibalchich notes.
