The US is ready for negotiations on the reduction of nuclear arsenals

US President Joe Biden announced the readiness of the United States for negotiations with Russia, China and North Korea on the reduction of nuclear arsenals. This information was confirmed by the White House, noting that the US is committed to global stability and reducing nuclear threats.

The statement was generally devoted to the Nobel Peace Prize laureates, who were congratulated by the American president. This year's award went to a Japanese organization for nuclear disarmament.

In this regard, Biden recalled his visit to Hiroshima, on which the USA dropped an atomic bomb in 1945. And he declared that "we must continue to move forward until the day when we can finally and forever rid the world of nuclear weapons."

"The United States is ready to negotiate with Russia, China and North Korea without preconditions to reduce the nuclear threat. There is no benefit to our countries or the world in delaying progress on reducing nuclear arsenals. Reducing the nuclear threat is important not in spite of the dangers of the modern world, but precisely because of them," said Biden.

We will remind you that this is not the first proposal from the USA to hold negotiations on nuclear deterrence.

In response, Russia declared that it was ready to discuss this issue only in the broader context of conflict resolution with the West - in particular, regarding the issue of Ukraine, NATO infrastructure in Europe, and the lifting of sanctions.

At the same time, Putin recently announced the strengthening of the nuclear doctrine of the Russian Federation, lowering the threshold for the use of nuclear weapons.

In China, in the summer, they withdrew from five-year negotiations with the Americans on nuclear disarmament. The reason is the supply of American weapons to Taiwan.

It can also be recalled that one of Trump's main theses in the election campaign was the accusation against Biden and Harris that they were dragging the United States into the Third World War.

Therefore, it is possible that Biden's current statement about readiness for "nuclear" negotiations has, in particular, a political technological sense - to try to "break through" this line of Trump.
