The US has eliminated ISIS leader Abu Yusif in Syria

The United States made a high -precision air strike, which resulted in the killed leader of the terrorist group IDIL Abu Yusif, also known as Mahmud. The operation took place in the Syrian province of Dyr Az-Zar, as reported by the Central Command of the United States (Centcom).

Two fighters, including terrorists, were killed as a result of the impact. The Central Command noted that this operation is part of the wider efforts of the United States to neutralize terrorist activity that threatens civilian citizens, US military personnel, as well as allies and partners in the region and abroad.

"We will aggressively attack IDIL leaders and militants who are trying to restore their forces or perform operations outside Syria," said Central Commander Central Commander, General Michael Kurill.

Despite the elimination of the key leader, ISIL still remains a serious threat. In prisons of Syria, under the control of Kurdish forces, more than 8,000 ISIL fighters are held. However, the limited resources of Kurdish forces can contribute to the emergence of a large -scale escape of terrorists, which can be a "horrible scenario" for the region.

American diplomats and military are actively working with Syria neighbors and local forces to prevent a new turn of terrorist activity. The US also supports efforts to ensure stability in Syria, trying to avoid increasing the influence of Russia and other forces in the region.

General Michael Kurilla held a meeting with Jeuseer General Joseph Al-Hunyte, assuring that the United States is ready to support Syria's neighbors in case of worsening.
