Ukraine is actively working on the development of its own winged and ballistic missiles, which may appear in defense forces next year. This was reported by the director of the state enterprise "Specialtechnoexport" Alexei Petrov in an interview with OBOZ.ua.
According to Petrov, flight tests of domestic missiles have already taken place, and the results of these tests are encouraging. "I will say that the state and finally the private sector are moving in this direction. And it was a reasonable decision to remove the monopoly in the rocket industry. So I think that our missiles, say, winged and ballistic, we will have until mid -2025," the expert said.
He stressed that the development of our own production, including private companies, is important. "In Ukraine, 155 mm projectiles of the NATO standard are manufactured, which can work at a fairly profitable distance to fight the enemy," Petrov added.
In addition, state -owned companies are trying to restore or expand the production of ammunition from the Soviet standard, which Ukraine cannot yet completely refuse. "A 152-mm caliber shot, which is 30 km, is essential, as well as 122 mm. They are in a constant shortage, because in large numbers they were used in large numbers of defense,"-summed up the director of Special Technoexport.
