Ukraine insists on the full isolation of Russia in the international nuclear sphere due to the violation of security and abuse of nuclear technologies. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that any blow to the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (Chernobyl) is not only an attack on Ukraine, but also on global nuclear security.
“It is unacceptable that representatives of the Russian nuclear sector who advise the Russian army on attacks on Ukrainian nuclear facilities, continue to participate in international forums and promote Russian nuclear technologies. They even remain in the governing bodies of international organizations responsible for nuclear security, ”the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.
The Ukrainian authorities called on international organizations to exclude Russian representatives from governing structures. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the issues of Russian threats to nuclear security, manipulation and pressure on the authority of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be violated at the next meeting of the IAEA Governance Council.
