Ukrtelecom communication operator has reported a significant increase in the number of subscribers who use fiber-optic internet connections over the last year. According to the company, the number of subscribers of the optical Internet network increased by 10%, exceeding the mark of 330,000 people.
The exact number of subscribers at the end of the third quarter of 2023 is not specified in the company's reporting. In September 2022, the company had more than 300,000 subscribers, and an increase in the number of users of the fiber -optic Internet is ongoing.
To expand the fiber lines, Ukrtelecom spent almost 4 thousand kilometers of fiber optic cables this year. This made it possible to connect more than 10,000 new subscribers to a high -speed optical Internet. This growth significantly exceeds the number of subscribers who use optical Internet in June 2023, which was 320,000.
Particular attention should be paid to the initiative of Ukrtelecom in the field of education and medicine. Over the 9 months, the company has connected to the fiber Internet more than 120 medical institutions and about 140 educational institutions, which helps to improve service and quality of services in these areas.
It is important to note that about 45% of Ukrtelecom subscribers are still used by other technologies, such as ADSL and VDSL, which, although providing internet connections, do not have as high speed and performance as fiber-optic compounds.
In the light of increasing the number of subscribers using fiber-optic internet connections, Ukrtelecom also showed readiness for possible power supply. The operator reserved all important online units with fuel supply generators, ensuring the continuity of communication services for 70% of its subscriber base in the event of blockages and power off.
The results of Ukrtelecom's financial activity are also of interest. In 9 months of 2023, the company was able to reach an income of more than UAH 3.8 billion, despite the decrease in income compared to the previous year. The EBITDA indicator increased by 10%, and the number of subscribers using fiberglass compounds exceeded 330,000 people.
Ukrtelecom continues to actively develop its network and efforts to improve the quality of its services, providing wide access to optical Internet in different regions of Ukraine.
