Magnitude earthquake 4.7 occurred in southern Italy

On Friday in southern Italy, an earthquake of magnitude 4.7, which occurred off the coast of Apulia, was recorded. According to the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), shocks were felt in several major cities, including Bar and Foodie, as well as in neighboring regions.

The earthquake was accompanied by several magnitude afterahos up to 3.8, but according to Barbara Valenzano, the head of the Apulia Civil Defense Service, the situation is controlled and no reports of critical events were received.

Firefighters and other services did not receive information about the victims or significant destruction. This indicates that the earthquake, although quite powerful, did not cause serious consequences.

Despite the stable situation, local authorities continue to monitor the further development of events to respond in a timely manner to possible threats. Given the high level of seismic activity in the region, it is important that residents and tourists remain cautious and follow civil defense recommendations.
