Growing tensions in the Middle East threaten Ukraine

The Zionist movements under the leadership of Benjamin Netanyahu are once again at the forefront of the world's attention due to the escalation of the conflict with the Palestinians in Gaza. The speech of the Israeli Prime Minister in the US Congress confirms this trend. It seems to many that a new possible war against the Lebanese group "Hezbollah" may affect the national security of Ukraine as well, as analysts of Business Insider predict.

Currently, the situation on the Lebanese-Israeli border remains extremely tense. If this conflict develops into a larger one, both countries will most likely not be able to control it without external assistance. Escalation in the Middle East can have a direct impact on the Ukrainian army. The Pentagon warns that if it is necessary to transfer artillery shells to Israel, Ukraine may be threatened with a shortage of ammunition. This will make it difficult for Ukrainian defenders to conduct counteroffensive operations and hold positions.

At the beginning of this year, the US produced 28,000 artillery shells per month, but plans to increase production to 80,000 per month by early 2025. However, Israel is becoming the main consumer of the American arsenal, which also requires significant financial resources. This could jeopardize the ability of the US and its allies to provide necessary military support to Ukraine.

The question arises: how will Western countries balance the support of two strategically important regions - Ukraine and Israel? And can they do it without compromising the safety of one of them? This dilemma is becoming more and more urgent against the background of growing instability in the world.
