Ex-Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgii Gakharia was beaten in Batumi

In Batumi, on the night of January 14, an attack on the former Prime Minister of Georgia and the leader of the opposition party for Georgia George Gakhari. The incident happened in the lobby of the Sheraton Hotel. According to doctors, Gaharia received a concussion and a fracture of the nose.

According to the witnesses, representatives of the pro -government forces, in particular the deputy of the Power of the People, Dmitry Samharadze and the member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ajaria, Georgy Manlylidze, could be involved in the attack. Police arrived at a place only 40 minutes after the call, when the ambulance had already delivered Gamaria to the hospital.

The journalist Zven Koridze, who was also at the hotel, said she was attacked before the incident with the expression. According to him, a group of persons, including Samharadze, behaved aggressively and offended him. After trying to find protection in the hotel protection, someone from the group struck him.

Law enforcement officers have opened proceedings under the Article of the Criminal Code on beating, but they have not yet been commented on the involvement of deputies. After a medical examination, George Gakhariya refused to stay in the hospital, despite his nose and diagnosed brain concussion.
